The Role
The Mooring Operator's tasks include mooring and unmooring vessels, rigging and de-rigging hoses and arms, re-rigging during cargo/ballast operations, and performing general and planned maintenance as directed. The role requires self-motivation and the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.


Principal Responsibilities
•    The mooring and unmooring of ships to the quayside
•    Performing pre-user checks on mooring and lifting equipment some on gantry’s at a height
•    Rigging and de-rigging of cargo hoses
•    Use of hand tools to connect and disconnect cargo hoses between shore and ship manifolds
•    Connection and disconnection of cargo arms
•    Operate a hand-held VHF radio, for communicating with colleagues or vessels
•    Assist with Crewing Pilot launches and workboats as required
•    Undertake training as required to comply with company regulations and legislative requirements
•    Use of company vehicle for transporting of samples to the onsite laboratory
•    Perform general housekeeping duties and checks


The Candidate
The mooring operator will be required to work shifts of 12 hour days and night following the on-site pattern. A full UK manual driving license is essential.
